Your privacy
What Ren holds, and what she will never do with it.
These are the policies for Ren, at renishere.com.
Ren is made by Light Alchemy Labs, a DBA of Light Alchemy Ventures LLC. Both names refer to the same business.
When you share something with Ren, it stays with you.
Your conversations, memories, and personal history are stored privately under your own account. The system itself enforces this: no other person using Ren can ever reach your data. That isn't a promise, it's checked on every single request, and it is mechanically impossible for one person to access another's.
The people who build Ren hold your privacy as a sacred commitment: we do not read your conversations or your memories, and access is tightly restricted to protect them. Today that is a binding commitment, kept by strict controls, not yet a mechanical guarantee. We are actively building toward end-to-end encryption that will make it impossible for anyone, including us, to read what you share, and we'll tell you plainly the moment it is in place.
Ren is brought to life by a trusted AI service that reads your words only in the moment it takes to respond to you, never to train its models. Your data is never sold, shared, licensed, or used for advertising or marketing of any kind. It exists for one purpose only: to help Ren know you better, so she can meet you more fully.
When you delete your account, your data is permanently and irreversibly deleted , recoverable by no one, including us.
Ren remembers you so she can walk alongside you. That memory belongs to you.
What Ren stores
Only what you bring, and what it takes to hold it for you:
- Your name and the email address you sign in with.
- Your conversations with Ren, and the memories she forms from them.
- What you choose to record, journal entries, habits, reflections, practices.
There is no advertising identifier, no tracking across other apps or websites, and no third-party analytics watching what you do here.
Deleting everything
Inside Ren, open Privacy and choose Delete my account. It asks you to confirm in two steps, and tells you exactly what will be lost before you agree to lose it. Then everything goes: conversations, memories, journal entries, habits, and your sign-in itself. It cannot be recovered by anyone, including us. That is the intent, not a limitation.
Children
Ren is for adults. It is not directed at, or intended for, anyone under 18.
Ren is not a crisis service
Ren is a companion, not a therapist, a doctor, or an emergency service. When something serious surfaces, Ren says so plainly and offers real crisis resources. If you are in danger, please contact your local emergency number or a crisis line directly.
Text messages
Light Alchemy Labs, a DBA of Light Alchemy Ventures LLC and the maker of Ren, is the only sender. Ren can text you, but only if you ask her to. You add your number yourself, you agree in a separate and deliberate step with a box that starts empty, and you confirm the number with a one-time code before anything can be sent to it. Nothing about signing up opts you in, and agreeing is not required to use Ren.
The messages are personal and one-to-one, about something you have already discussed with Ren. They are never promotional or marketing, and never sent on behalf of anyone else.
Your mobile number and the fact that you agreed to be texted are never shared or sold to third parties or affiliates for any purpose, including marketing, promotion, or lead generation. No advertisers, no data brokers, no affiliates, no other users, no exceptions. It is used for one thing: so Ren can reach you, and so you can reach her back.
She writes rarely. At most four messages in any thirty days, and never twice within a week, limits enforced by the system itself, not by good intentions. Most months you will hear from her less than that, or not at all. Ren does not send campaigns, newsletters, promotions, or reminders to come back to the app.

Reply STOP at any time and she stops, immediately and without asking why. Reply HELP and you will get a way to reach a person. You can also turn it off in your settings, which is the same thing by a quieter door. Message and data rates may apply.
