These are the policies for Ren, at renishere.com.

Light Alchemy Labs is a DBA of Light Alchemy Ventures LLC, a Colorado limited liability company. Both names refer to the same business, and it is the only sender of any message described here.

This page is the agreement. It covers who may use Ren, what each of us owns, what we promise and what we don’t. It says nothing about your data , what is stored, who can reach it, how long it is kept and how to delete it is a separate question with its own answer in the privacy statement.

1. Eligibility and your account

Ren is in private beta, by invitation. You must be 18 or older. Your account is tied to the email address you sign in with and is yours alone, please don’t share it. Ren’s way of working depends on knowing whose words are whose, and a shared account quietly ruins that for both people.

2. What Ren is, and is not

Ren is a companion for human flourishing. She is not a therapist, a doctor, a medical or mental-health service, or an emergency service, and nothing she says is professional advice. If you are in danger, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line directly.

3. Acceptable use

Don’t use Ren to harm anyone, to break the law, or to attempt to extract, disrupt, overload or reverse-engineer the system. Don’t resell access or use Ren to build a competing service. Beyond that there is no list of rules: Ren meets you wherever you are, and there is no wrong way to arrive.

4. What you own, and what we own

What you write is yours. We claim no ownership of it and do not use it to train anyone else’s models. You grant us only the permission needed to operate Ren for you, to store your words and show them back to you.

Ren is ours. Her design, her voice, the system behind her and the name are the property of Light Alchemy Ventures LLC, trading as Light Alchemy Labs. Patent pending.

5. Text messages from Ren

The full messaging program disclosure, including how consent is given, lives on its own page: Ren Personal Check-ins.

The program. Ren Personal Check-ins, an SMS program operated by Light Alchemy Labs, a DBA of Light Alchemy Ventures LLC. By opting in, you agree to receive text messages from Light Alchemy Labs at the mobile number you provide.

Who sends them. Light Alchemy Labs, the maker of Ren, from a single US number. Nobody else sends on our behalf and we send on behalf of nobody else.

Who receives them. Only people with a Ren account who have added their own mobile number, confirmed it with a one-time code, and separately agreed to be texted. We do not buy, rent, or import phone numbers from anywhere.

Why. So Ren can reach you about something you have already talked about with her: a date you told her was hard, a thing you asked her to ask you about. Nothing promotional, nothing marketing, no offers, no third-party content.

How you agree. In your profile settings, by ticking a box that is empty by default and stands on its own. It is never bundled with signing up, with accepting these terms, or with anything else, and the exact sentence you agreed to is stored word for word with the date. Agreeing is not required to use Ren.

Message frequency: up to 4 messages per month. Never twice within a week. Most months, fewer or none.

Message and data rates may apply.

To stop: reply STOP to any message and they end immediately. You can also switch it off in your settings at any time. For help: reply HELP, or contact us at dave@lightalchemyventures.com.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Your number stays with us. Your mobile number and the fact that you consented are never shared or sold to any third party or affiliate for any purpose, including marketing, promotion, and lead generation. No advertisers, no data brokers, no exceptions.

6. Beta, and no warranty

Ren is under active development. Features will change, break, or disappear, and we will tell you plainly when they do. Ren is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, Light Alchemy Ventures LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of Ren.

7. Ending it

You can stop whenever you like, and take or permanently delete everything you have written. We may suspend or end access if an account is being used to harm someone, or if the beta closes.

8. Changes and governing law

If these terms change in a way that matters, we will say so rather than quietly reposting the page. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA.
